Clinical Aide
Job Description:
The QHC Regional Paediatric Services Consulting Group seeks a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Clinical Aide. This position offers a permanent part-time opportunity from Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various clinical and clerical tasks within our organization. This position offers an hourly starting rate of $20/hour.
Direct Duties:

Liaise with patients and families
-
Bring patients and families from the waiting room to the exam room

Perform patient vital signs assessments for children aged newborn to adolescent. (Including patient height, weight, head circumference and blood pressure)

Schedule appointments

Perform necessary laboratory labelling and disposition
-
Communicate with physicians regarding requests, patient flow and patient concerns
-
Ensure supplies are fully stocked, as well checking for expired samples and products
-
Check medical supplies and identify needed supplies to the Office Manager

Communicate with referring Physician’s offices as required

Communicate results with patients’ families as required

Ensure the appropriate chart/documentation is performed
Clerical Duties:

Assist Administration with SRFax, incoming phone calls and patient chart scanning

Assist Clerical staff in the day-to-day operation of the office

Assist in covering front reception in times of clerical absence/staff shortage
Qualifications:
-
Post Secondary diploma or equivalent qualification
-
Minimum 2 years prior experience in a similar role and environment

Must have a valid First Aid Certificate

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal abilities
-
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry and record keeping
Assets:
-
Experience with neonatal and paediatric assessments, including vital signs
-
Successful completion of an approved Health Care Aide Program

Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment
-
Knowledge of medical terminology
-
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Ability to be flexible working in a busy, fast-paced environment with changing priorities
-
Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities as required

Experience with an Electronic Medical Records software, preferably OSCAR
-
Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
